What Makes TriAthy Special
Now in its 18th year, TriAthy is one of Ireland’s longest-running and most popular triathlon events, attracting up to 3,000 participants annually from across Ireland and beyond.
- River Barrow Swim — A unique river swim through the heart of Athy town, with a maximum river width of just 40m and dedicated water rescue crews for every swimmer.
- 36km of Closed Roads — One of the few triathlons in Ireland offering a fully closed road cycle course along the R417, south of Athy.
- Scenic Towpath Run — The run course follows the beautiful River Barrow towpath before returning to town for a memorable finish.
- Rolling Start Format — All races use a rolling start format, making for a smooth and efficient race experience.
- Triathlon Ireland Sanctioned — A fully sanctioned event subscribing to the highest safety and racing standards. A valid Race Licence is required to participate.
