TriAthy uses professional chip timing to accurately record your race performance. Here’s how it works:
Your Timing Chip
You will receive a timing chip as part of your Race Pack when you check in before the event. The chip must be securely attached to your ankle using the velcro strap provided. It must remain on your ankle for the entire race – swim, bike and run.
Important: Your timing chip must be returned at the finish line after you complete your race. A deposit applies and unreturned chips will be charged.
Timing Mats
Electronic timing mats are positioned at key points along the course to record your split times:
- Swim Exit – records your swim split as you leave the River Barrow
- T1 (Swim-to-Bike Transition) – records your first transition time
- T2 (Bike-to-Run Transition) – records your second transition time
- Finish Line – records your total race time and official finish
Your race result will include individual split times for each discipline (Swim, T1, Bike, T2, Run) as well as your overall finishing time. This allows you to analyse your performance across each leg of the triathlon.
Provisional vs Final Results
Results published on race day and shortly after are provisional. They may be subject to change if any queries, time penalties or anomalies need to be resolved. Final results are typically confirmed within a few days of the event.
