This page is ONLY for entrants who chose to have their Race Pack By Post. If you didn’t choose the postal option for TriAthy 2026 the rest of this page won’t apply to you.For postal entrants – the dates below cover everything you need to do between now and race day, including the process and things to watch out for.
The four dates that matter
Mon 4 May at midnight — cut-off for the postal option
This is the deadline to choose the postal option. If you didn’t opt-in by this date, your pack must be collected at race-weekend at Athy Rugby Club in-person.
Wed 6 May — online check-in opens (for postal entrants only)
Postal entrants get access to Online Check-in roughly two weeks earlier than everyone else so there’s time to get packs issued in the post. You can complete check-in any time from this date onwards up to midday on Wed 20 May. The earlier you check-in the earlier your Race Pack can be posted.
Mon 18 May — race-change deadline (postal entrants only)
If you’re thinking about changing your race distance (e.g. Sprint to Olympic, or Olympic to TA-100), you should NOT check-in but make a request in the normal way to change race before Monday 18 May. After this date, postal entrants can’t change race. Non-postal entrants have a later race-change deadline; we’ll communicate that to them separately.
Wed 20 May at midday — final online check-in cut-off for postal entrants
This is the absolute last moment for postal entrants to complete online check-in if you want your pack in the post. Miss this and your pack will not be posted — you’ll need to collect it at race-day registration.
When your pack will be posted
Your pack goes out the working day after you complete check-in, in one of four dispatches we are planning:
| Dispatch | Complete check-in by | Pack posted |
|---|---|---|
| Postal dispatch #1 | Tue 12 May | Wed 13 May |
| Postal dispatch #2 | Thu 14 May | Fri 15 May |
| Postal dispatch #3 | Sun 17 May | Mon 18 May |
| Postal dispatch #4 (final) | midday Wed 20 May | Wed 20 May |
The earlier you check in, the earlier your pack is in the post. We’d encourage you to aim for postal dispatch #1 or #2 if you can — it gives us and An Post the best room to deliver before race week.
Important — please read before you check in
Four things to know :
- Online check-in is required. Your Race Pack will not be released by post until you’ve completed it. There are no exceptions.
- You can’t change your race after you’ve completed check-in. If there’s any chance you might want to change your race distance, do that first. The online check-in form will guide you and prompt you to the right place if you click through, but you must initiate that path before completing check-in. The deadline for postal entrants to make changes is the end of Monday 18 May.
- You can update your postal address during check-in. If you’ve moved since registering for the event, or you want the pack sent somewhere different (a workplace, a parent’s house, a holiday address), you can change it as part of online check-in process.
- If you don’t check in by midday on Wed 20 May, your pack will not be posted. It’ll be held for your at Athy RFC on race weekend in your name and you’ll need to collect it in person.
You’ll get a series of email and SMS reminders between 6-20 May. If you haven’t heard from us by Mon 11 May and you’re expecting a postal pack, please get in touch.
Frequently asked questions
What’s in the pack?
Your race pack contains your swim hat, race bib, race sticker set, race belt, and timing chip — everything you need to start your race. Any merchandise you ordered (t-shirts, hoodies, cycle jerseys, kit bags) is collected at the finish line on race day, not posted with the pack.
Why is online check-in required?
Online check-in confirms your personal details, captures your Triathlon Ireland licence and any medical declarations, and records the waivers we’re required to collect under Triathlon Ireland rules. It also means you don’t need to queue on race morning — once you’ve checked in online, you walk straight from your pack to the transition zone.
When exactly will my pack arrive?
That depends on which dispatch you fall into and on An Post delivery times. Most addresses in Ireland receive packs within two working days of dispatch. If you make postal dispatch #1 (check-in by Tue 12 May), expect your pack within the following week. If you leave it to the final dispatch on 20 May, allow for tight timing.
Can I change my race after I’ve completed check-in?
No. Once check-in is complete, your race is locked. If you think there’s any chance you’ll want to switch, take the race-change path that the check-in form offers you, complete the change, and then wait to be issued a new online check-in link. Race changes for postal entrants must be processed by the end of Monday 18 May.
What if I need to update my postal address?
You can update it as part of online check-in proces. If your pack has already been dispatched and the address is wrong, contact us immediately — we may not be able to recover it, but the sooner we know, the more options we have.
What if my pack doesn’t arrive?
Wait at least three working days from your dispatch date — An Post delivery times can vary. If it’s not with you by then, email info@triathy.com with your name and registration number. We can confirm dispatch and, if needed, prepare a replacement at race-day registration.
What if I miss the final cut-off on Wed 20 May?
Your pack will be held for you until race weekend at Athy RFC. You’ll need to complete check-in in person and collect the pack on race morning. Allow extra time — the queue at the venue is busiest in the hour before each race.
Will I get reminders?
Yes. We’ll send several email and SMS reminders between 6-20 May, with the first going out shortly after early check-in opens on Wed 6 May. If you haven’t received anything by Mon 11 May and you’re expecting a postal pack, please contact us.
Need help?
Email info@triathy.com with your name and registration number and we’ll come back to you within one working day. After Mon 18 May we can’t guarantee there’ll be enough time to action a postal-related request — if you’re unsure of anything close to that date, please contact us as early as possible.
