What should I bring on Race Day? (Kit Checklist)

Race day can be hectic, so preparation is key. Use this checklist to make sure you have everything you need. We recommend laying out your kit the night before.

🏊 Swim Kit

  • Wetsuit (compulsory at TriAthy)
  • Swimming goggles (mandatory – no goggles, no swim)
  • Tri-suit or race clothing worn under your wetsuit
  • Your own swim cap (optional – an official TriAthy cap will be provided)
  • Vaseline or anti-chafe cream (for neck, wrists and ankles)

🚴 Bike Kit

  • Roadworthy bike with working brakes and capped handlebar ends
  • Bike helmet (mandatory – no cracks, properly fitted straps)
  • Cycling shoes (or trainers if using flat pedals)
  • Water bottle(s) – there are no water stations on the bike course
  • Spare inner tube, tyre levers and mini-pump (puncture repair is your responsibility)
  • Sunglasses (optional)

  • Running shoes
  • Socks (optional – some athletes prefer to race without)
  • Cap or visor (optional, for sun protection)

  • Race bib and race belt (collected at Race Pack pick-up)
  • Timing chip (collected at Race Pack pick-up – must be returned after the race)
  • Sports stickers (for labelling your bike and bags)
  • Energy gels or nutrition for during the race
  • Towel (for drying off after the swim in transition)
  • Sunscreen
  • A bag for personal belongings (to leave at the Baggage Drop area)

  • Write your name inside your wetsuit in case it gets lost or mixed up
  • Test all your race clothing in training – never wear anything new on race day
  • Remember: lycra dries faster than cotton!
  • Arrive early to set up your transition area calmly
